You are invited! Chāpān Games + Teachings
Join WHC and our community partners for the first-ever Chāpān Games and Teachings at The Forks on Monday, September 30th.
The games are Traditional Indigenous games that those who did not return home would have learned from their Chāpān (Cree for Great Grandparents). They are all fun games accompanied by a lot of laughter and good feelings.
Attending the event is to honour those young people who never returned home because of the erroneous government policies that removed them from their homes and sent them to live elsewhere and where many died - and to honor those who survived and suffered, many with debilitating effects that are still being felt today.
