Midwives are health professionals who provide care and support during pregnancy, labour, birth, and until six weeks after the baby is born. Midwives view pregnancy as a state of health, and birth as an important and special experience. Under midwifery care, some pregnant people do not need to see a doctor.

You must be in the care of a midwife to give birth at Ode’imin (formerly known as the Birth Centre).

Please note: You must live within WRHA and have a Manitoba Health Card or Federal Military Coverage in order to obtain a WRHA midwife

To help us appropriately serve everyone who is interested in midwifery care, please help us when inquiring about services:

If you have access to a vehicle or other easy transportation to Ode'imin, come in person! You will be able to fill out the form quickly.

If you can't come in and have internet access, fill out the online form! You are able to fill it out via mobile device or on computer.

If you can't do either, please call us at 204-947-2422 ext. 307! With your cooperation, the phone lines should be clear for those who can't come in to fill out a form and don't have internet access.

Please be patient with us, as we have a lot of people to contact, and it may take up to 2 weeks to reach you! Together, we can make sure the process is as smooth as possible.
