Our Values

Fueling Freedom emphasizes choice, autonomy, and self-determination. We deliver our work through an anti-oppressive, intersectional feminist lens. Our aim is to contribute to health equity, social justice, and broader systemic change related to truth, reconciliation, and decolonization.

Here’s how that shows up in our work:

Youth-Centered Decision Making

We know the youth we serve are the experts of their own experiences and should have a say in their care. We bring a person-centred approach to care and centre the needs of our youth clients.

Weight-Inclusive Approach

We know that disordered eating affects people of all sizes. We believe every body, regardless of size, deserves timely and respectful care: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Systems Lens

We acknowledge that challenges that occur with relationship to food and body are not isolated, individual failures. These challenges are predictable outcomes driven by widespread societal pressures, cultural norms, and structural biases.
