In the documents below, we use the medical names for common body parts that might be referenced when talking about birth and pregnancy (vagina, uterus, cervix, etc.) When speaking about pregnancy, abortion, birthing, and parenting experiences, we also use inclusive terminology in these documents. Terms like pregnant person, parenting, and chestfeeding are used alongside terms like breastfeeding and mothering.

Not everyone aligns with these terms when discussing their own bodies or experiences. We use these terms in our public resources for consistency, clarity, and ease of reference. If you are receiving care at WHC and there are terms you would prefer your care team to use when working with you, please let a practitioner know and we will note it in your chart.

Coping with Change Facilitator Training

Whether a baby arrives by birth or adoption, all families benefit from support as they adjust to the many ways a baby changes their lives.

Coping with Change facilitator training is a 2-day professional development workshop that helps service providers understand the emotional adjustments and mental health challenges of new parents and builds the knowledge and skills they need to support the families in their communities.
