As queer people, we’re more likely to experience eating disorders and disordered eating, but we also face more obstacles when it comes to accessing treatment. It can also be difficult to see ourselves represented in care spaces, media, and conversations about disordered eating.

Join two counsellors from the Provincial Eating Disorder Prevention and Recovery Program (PEDPRP) for learning, conversation, and connection around the intersection of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and our relationships with our bodies.

This FREE workshop is open to queer people of all genders aged 16+ who may or may not experience disordered eating.

In this workshop you will:

  • learn more about how disordered eating can show up in our lives
  • understand how eating disorders develop and how systemic oppression affects the relationship we have with our bodies
  • get insight into the barriers to finding queer-inclusive care
  • explore the ways diet culture and image standards impact the queer community
  • get curious about our own relationships with food, body, and identity

This specific workshop is hosted by queer people, for queer people. Please be mindful of this when registering. Happy Pride!

This workshop takes place online. You will be sent a Teams link in the reminder email sent prior to the session – you can join from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.
