
Debbie Campbell
Treasurer
Debbie is a Certified Professional Accountant CPA, CMA. She has extensive experience and competencies in leadership, strategy, management, and accounting.
Debbie has been employed with the Manitoba Legislative Assembly for over 29 years, with more than fourteen years in senior management as the Director of Finance. In her role as Director of Finance, she exercises comptrollership and sound financial management to safeguard the integrity and accountability of the Legislative Assembly.
As a life-long learner, Debbie continues to enhance her leadership competencies through ongoing professional development with the CPA organisation, Toastmasters International and other volunteer opportunities. In June 2020, Debbie received her Distinguished Toastmaster designation, the highest level of educational achievement in communication and leadership in the Toastmasters program.
Contributing to her community is important to Debbie. For the last twelve years, Debbie has been an integral member of the Finance Committee for the Women’s Health Clinic (WHC), serving the last four years as Chair and the role of Treasurer on WHC’s Board of Directors. She has assisted the Board in fulfilling its fiduciary responsibility with respect to the financial obligations of WHC.
Debbie recognises the importance of WHC and the positive impact it has in the lives of women, Two-Spirit, genderqueer, trans, and non-binary people within our province. Debbie is an intersectional feminist, pro-choice advocate, and passionately supports how we all choose to express ourselves, ensuring equality as women and gender diverse. Serving on WHC’s Board over the last four years, Debbie has demonstrated her strong commitment to anti-oppressive work, and the need for the work to continue to reduce barriers to access for marginal communities. WHC is a safe space to explore one’s own wellbeing without judgement. Debbie is aligned with WHC’s values and strategic direction to decolonise health services and acknowledges her privilege as an uninvited settler on this land towards reconciliation efforts.
