Provincial Eating Disorder Prevention and Recovery Program

Our community-based treatment program serves all genders: women, men, trans and non-binary people. It is most appropriate for adults who are medically stable, assessed for low medical risk, and don’t require meal support or an intensive program for eating disorder symptoms. Some people may require more intensive treatment before starting our program.

Our services include assessment and treatment for binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, and anorexia nervosa, and other types of disordered eating.

We recommend people under age 18 seek treatment through the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Program at Health Sciences Centre: 204-958-9660.

We offer education workshops for people over age 16 who want to have a more peaceful relationship with food and their body. We also offer support to family and friends of those with eating disorders, and consultation to health care professionals.

Our services are funded by Manitoba Health; there are no costs to participants.

You can contact our program directly to inquire about our services and explore our programming – a referral from a service provider is not required.

Please call us at 204-947-2422 ext. 137 (in Winnipeg) or 1-866-947-1517 ext. 137 (toll-free outside of Winnipeg) to:

  • learn more about our services
  • ask questions
  • assess disordered eating behaviours and symptoms so you can be placed on our waitlist
  • be referred to other services

Our Program Assistant will arrange for you to talk with a counsellor or nurse practitioner about your concerns and explore if our program can be helpful. They also have information about other resources you can use while waiting for treatment.
