Parenting Support

Families Connecting groups from the Transcona (Tuesday afternoons) and Elmwood/Kildonan (Thursday afternoons) communities are happening online. These groups are for families of pregnant people or families parenting a baby under the age of one. These groups are a chance to connect with other families and the Public Health dietitians and/or nurses in your community. People from outside of those areas are also welcome.

An online prenatal group is running every second week on Wednesday evening throughout the summer. It is intended for people in later pregnancy. People from the River East, Elmwood and Kildonan communities are especially encouraged to attend, as these groups are supported by public health nurses from those communities.

Upcoming topics include: Infant feeding and care (August 19)

More prenatal workshops will be scheduled for September.

We are currently accepting registrations for a Coping with Change group, to discuss our mental health while parenting, starting Thursday, August 27, 10:30-11:30 and running September 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Outdoor groups! We are accepting registrations for outdoor groups in August the South Osborne and Osborne Village areas. Groups will be held in Osborne Village on Wednesday mornings, August 12 and 26; and in South Osborne Tuesday mornings, August 18 and September 1. A light snack, coupons for free milk (for those that are pregnant / with babies under 6 months) and bus tokens are provided. More details to follow.
